Temple University Faculty Recital feat. music by Emma O’Halloran, Nick DiBerardino, Erin Busch, and Jacob TV – April 3, 7:30 PM
Temple University Boyer College of Music and Dance presents Matthew Levy in Sum of Its Parts, a program of electro-acoustic music for solo saxophone. Executive director and co-founding member of the world-renowned PRISM Quartet, Levy has been praised by the Saxophone Journal as “a complete virtuoso of the tenor saxophone” and by Classical Magazine for “gorgeous and ethereal” compositions. His creative work has been supported by fellowships from The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, the Independence Foundation, and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
Levy will perform three works created specifically for him: Sum of Its Parts by Irish composer and 2026 Grammy nominee and Emma O’Halloran; can’t find the words by Wildflower Composers founder and executive director and Temple University faculty member Erin Busch; and See Your Shadow by Curtis Institute provost, dean, and chair in composition studies Nick DiBerardino. Rounding out the program is Grab It! by Dutch avant-pop composer Jacob TV.
The concert takes place on Friday, April 3, 7:30 PM at Rock Hall Auditorium located at 1715 N. Broad Street, Rock Hall (2nd floor) in Philadelphia. Admission is free. Just show up!
