Teacher

Matt has worked as a music instructor for much of his career. He currently teaches at Temple University Boyer College of Music and Dance where he maintains a robust saxophone studio.

He has also served as a mentor for the Curtis Institute of Music’s Community Artist Program (CAP), which provides an opportunity for gifted students to develop entrepreneurial skills, and combine “artistry with invention, leadership with advocacy, and citizenship with community.”

Matt has previously served on the faculties of the University of Michigan (sabbatical replacement and All-State program), University of Redlands, University of Toledo, University of Pennsylvania, and Settlement Music School.

As a member of the PRISM Quartet, Matt has participated in a week-long annual High School Saxophone Institute at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. With PRISM, Matt has also conducted residencies at dozens of music training institutions worldwide, including Oberlin Conservatory, Princeton University, Eastman School of Music, Purdue University, North Carolina School of the Arts, Arizona State University, Ithaca College, Brigham Young University, Georgia Southern University, the universities of Missouri-Kansas City, Vermont, Illinois, Michigan, and Southern California, Tianjin Conservatory (China), Javeriana University (Colombia), Catholic University (Chile), and Mama Cuchara Cultural Center (Ecuador).
